    What pickups should I buy for my Strat?

    The answer to this question depends upon what you are looking for.
    Do you want true single coil or hum cancelling? How aggressive do you want your output to be? The magnets can make a significant impact in the tone, which is something you need to consider. Budget is also an important factor!

    What are the different pickups on a Strat?

    Stratocaster guitars have three different pickups - a neck pickup, a middle pickup, and a bridge pickup. A typical Stratocaster has a 5 way switch to allow you to use the three pickups in the following five combinations:

    • Position 1: Bridge pickup only
    • Position 2: Bridge pickup and middle pickup together
    • Position 3: Middle pickup only
    • Position 4. Middle pickup and neck pickup together
    • Position 5: Neck pickup only

    What is the difference between active and passive strat pickup?

    A passive pickup requires no battery and is how guitar pickups have worked since day one. Active pickups require a battery to power the onboard preamp that gives the active tone. We sell both active and passive strat pickups.
