    Does every bass player need a preamp?

    Yes, all bass players need some sort or preamp. This can be in the form of a bass amplifier, a pedal (MXR bass preamp or EBS Microbass), an onboard preamp (Bartolini onboard preamp), or some other outboard gear (rack gear, recording interface, etc).

    What is the best preamps for bass guitar?

    In our opinion, the EBS Microbass is one of the best bass preamps on the market. For a more budget friendly, simpler option, the MXR Bass Preamp is a great option. If you are looking for onboard options, Bartolini makes top of the line gear.
